There is always discussion on buying or building Ramps,in order to have clearance under the front bumper.

So what is wrong with placing the ramps to the rear of the tire under the rocker panel?
There is about 7" of space there.

Would you then BACK onto the ramp?
This seems like it may actually work!
The reason for lead-ins to a ramp are to clear the low hanging under-stuff
below the front bumper.
I'd like to hear if someone's actually willing to try this.

I can see two problems. First, the typical ramps will just barely fit under the pinch rails so the car's movement might actually move the ramps too. Second, you should absolutely not use ramps that don't have a "stop" at the end, which adds another 1"-2" of height which then won't fit under the car - the stops are imperative to keep from accidentally running off the end of the ramp and potentially causing serious damage to the car.

Yeah

my ramps fit right under the bunper. I drive right up on them. they have the protector stops as well. puts a little bend mark in the plastic strip that runs along the bottom of the bumper. but it goes away.
