I have a 2000 C5 roadster. Purchased in July 2003 with only 1200 miles on it (has 8100 now). Right from the first week we (wife & I) noticed a rattle/buzzing in the doors when the Bose system is turned up pretty loud.
I did find a service Bullletin (# 01-08 64-009A) about how the service tech should fix the problem. It is dated 06-19-2002, covers 1997 through 2002 Corvettes (I assume that GM/Chevrolet/Corvette came up with a factory fix starting the 2003 model year). My question is has anyone had this problem, had it fixed at the dealership and had GM pay for the fix?
I did call Chevrolet Custonmer Srvc. Got a file number and was told at this point Chevrolet will not foot the bill to have the fix done.
I have a Major Guard extended warr on the car but gm says since there is nothing broken they will not pay to have the fix done.........
Can anyone tell me whom I should try to contact next? Thanks.

Greg,
I've heard the the little Bose piece on the speaker grill often rattles, but it sounds like you have a louder one than that....just throwing it out there!

The factory service manuals have many pages devoted to diagnosing and fixing speaker rattles.

Hi Greg C -

Turn up the volume, and then press your finger on the "bose" logo on the speaker grille.

Chances are the little metal logo is what is buzzing.....

I fixed mine by removing the door panel to get at the interior of the speaker grilles, and then filled the hollow backside of the bose logos with clear silicone, and also attempted to crimp the metal tangs (that hold the logo in place) down harder.

It is very easy to get the door panels off - check the instructions on the
