Anyone have some advice on how to rebond a door skin that is separting in spots around the bottom of the door. I'm currently preping the entire car for a paint job.

Thanks

i had the bottom corner of the driver's door loose. i cheated and went the quick route. we use a two-part epoxy called "click bond" at disney.it comes in a tube with a nozzle tip that mixes as the gun pushes it out. but i guess any industrial strength epoxy would work for a small repair.
anyway i 'shot' some between the door frame and skin. then used a C clamp and some padding to hold it together til everything set!

i slid a putty knife across the bottom to get it all detached , i then used some coarse sandpaper wedged in the space to clean both surfaces. blew it clean with some air, drilled a bunch of small holes in the metal, put liquid fiberglass resin on both surfaces and put them together. on the small drilled holes i put 2 layers of fiberglass cloth, covered with wax paper, put a piece of wood over the fiberglass and clamp it for a day.it's a lot easier to do this with the doors off as you will want to sand and fill this area, but it works well and is permanent.mike
