Ready for body lift...got the dolly done....

wise words Step :)

yes, I have learned a couple of things in the audio field, mostly all self learned. But as you know working on thses cars in an area not related to audio is completely new to me. i'm starting at the very bottom level and as you know and have seen thru my threads and questions I have to learn each and every single step along the way.
I'm not a COMPLETE moron so I nkow I'm capable of doing most of the work, it's just that the learning curve is steep on each and every step no matter how minor of a step it is but as long as people like you and others on here are willing to put up with my questions and help me out i'll keep moving on, learning, and progressing with new things and new projects on my car. :)

The REAL scary part is I've been thinking it would be really fun to buy a car as a complete project and do it up from beginning to end. It may take me 5 years or so to accomplish it but it would be a hell of a way to learn. Even my wife thinks it would be fun and a good idea. Kinda scared to start a project like that on a Vette because of the expense but maybe something like a 1st generation camaro (I'd LOVE to have on of those anyway) or a Mustang (mush less expensive of a project compared to a vette to start ). I'm actually eyeing my cousins '69 Mustang Mach 1 that has been sitting untouch for 15 years as a possibility especially since my wife loves the old 'stangs. OK, OK, i know I mentioned the dreaded "F" brand but hey, it would cost a lot less to learn on one of those and it's still a pretty cool car and a perfect 'toy" for my wife with PS, PB, A/C. :)

thats ok.....we would be lost together and not even know it.....

Me three! If you need a second opinion Bob can vouch for me that I know nothing either! I thought I knew it all but I misunderstood when he said "Doug, there nothing I can teach you!";);LOL But we sure would get a lot a laughs and enjoy ourselves while we stumbled through it!:L :upthumbs . Good luck and hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Barry,

As you undoubtedly understood, all I intended to imply, was that you not short change yourself.

It's a pleasure for me ( when time is not an issue ) to be able to help you, along with others like yourself, by benefiting from my limited experience. I have a lot of respect for people like Mr. McGraw, JohnZ and others for the patience they must show with the never ending, same questions that just keep repeating themselves. Hat's off to you fellows.

As far as a future project for yourself, I would strongly recommend that you find a Corvette such as the one John Mcgraw has described in his latest post, ( a good productive day to-day ) and do a complete restoration, from day one. You will certainly be enriched by the total process, because it becomes a special feeling, very difficult to explain, what we experience, when one takes a box of assorted parts, and turns it into a car. Akin to it becoming an entity rather then an assortment of parts. I'm sure those who have experienced it in the past will know what I am referring to.

On another subject, you mentioned the whereabouts of a 69 Mustang that is in need. Well should decide to pass on it, I feel I have something I must discuss with you. I belong to a local association that helps out, those in our society that have come upon hard times ( or done them ) and that are in need of something to keep them going in a straight line. One of the principal players, has been searching for a 69 Mustang project car, to use as a learning tool, and also to keep them off the street. I am aware that any vehicle could most probably be chosen for their project, but as luck would have it, the only candidate they are considering happens to be the 69 Mustang model.

If by chance the car you referred to could be available, I would be more then happy to discuss this further with you. Thank's for the effort on your part, I would very much appreciate your involvement.

regards
bob

as much as I wuold love a project car at some point, unfortunately NOW is not feasible for me because of budgetary contraints. :(
I was interested in the Mustand only because i felt it would be less expensive of a project to learn on, plus my wife loves older Mustangs, and as a car lover I hate to see this thing keep sitting there wasting away.
If he is willing to sell it and my wife and I decide we just aren't able to handle a project right now I'll be glad to pass along your interest to him regarding the car. Honestly, I'm not even sure what a fair value on the car is currently as it sits and how much it would be worth restored to know if it would even be worth it.
i do have plenty of pics of it I took one day if you are interested in seeing them and it's condition.

Herb, sorry to sidetrack your thread - back to the previously scheduled program. :)

Are you having a Body lift party I don't remember seeing a thread about, if the weather is anything like last weekend I could be talked into coming along, but I get Findley and Fremont confused which is just off I75?

Findlay is just off I-75.....Fremont is about 40 minutes or so DUE EAST of Findlay....Norwalk where I live now is another 35 minutes EAST of Fremont. We are due south of Cedar Point (Rte 250) and the Ohio Turnpike.
