Tested out the G-Tech today and have about the same HP results as above except my HP was way lower around 225, QM 14.2 and QM speed 104. I used the weight on the door for my '86 coupe 3763 and subtracted the 180Lbs because I had just me in the car to a weight of 3583 Lbs. Sound like the weight is right? My mods are K+N filter, cut airbox, MSD wire set, AC Delco rapid fire plugs, Hypertech cap rotor and coil, airfoil, flowmaster 50 series mufflers and Hypertech stage 1 chip. Why the low HP?? Also, do I have to reset the vehicle weight EVERY time I shut it off or does it store the weight?
 
Really, I did just as the G-Tech said and looked on my door and it said 3763 Lbs. But now I checked the CAC tech center specs and it says curb weight is 3280 Lbs w/o passengers. So, I guess try the 3280 + my weight for the correct weight to put into the G-Tech? Or do the + 180 Lbs.? I weigh 250 so adding my weight gets me to 3530 pretty damn close to the original weight I used.

Doesnt your car have only like 8 thousand miles on it? If that is the case your HP might actually rise as you get more miles added. My brother was telling me that they tested a new Jag in Car and Driver or soemthing, with hardly any miles, to one with around 40 thousand and the one with the higher amount of miles produced a lot better numbers all across the board. I don't know if this pertains to our cars or not, just something to think about.

and another thing, You have to make sure that thing is level too, it is really touchy about that, and test it a couple three four times, and see what the average of the runs are.
 
Yes, it only has 8500 miles on it now but its broken it by now. The engine even though its broken in should some "seasoning" left and I may gain some more HP. I played hell trying to get that G-Tech level or rather zeroed out, it does'nt look exactly level but it is zeroed.
 
The tech center for the 86 must be wrong. It actually has the coupe weighing more then the vert. This is a contradiction from what I have always known.

As for what you saw in the door, was that GVWR or somthing like that. I believe that number is the gross vehicle weight total. That is how much the car should weigh when it is loaded with passengers and gear. However it should also list curb weight on the door.

The G-Tech manual said to take the weight on the door "GVWR" and subtract 180Lbs per missing passinger. Exactly what the manual says "Weight is usually displayed next to the VIN on the plate by the door. It includes full passinger capacity. Subtract 180 Lbs. for each missing passinger. So the door says 3763 and subtract the 180 Lbs. "just me in the car" for a total of 3583 Lbs. Now, the Corvette Black Book shows a curb weight "The curb weight of a vehicle is the weight of an unmanned vehicle with fuel, oil coolant and all standard equipment installed" of 3239. Should I maybe add 180 Lbs. to that figure? That total is 3530 Lbs. What I'm looking for is a proper weight to set this G-Tech at and its starting to get VERY confusing. :confused The 3239 coupe weight in the CBB sounds more correct when compaired to the Tech centers vert weight of 3266 Lbs. ALSO, mine is a auto and I know they weigh more than a manual......I'm SO freak'n confused what to put into the G-Tech. :confused :confused
 
Just take the curb weight and add however much you weigh, that is probably the best you can do without do some math calculations.
