I have a dealer that will "split" the profit with me on an '06. How and where can I find the real cost to each of us once the new prices are released? Consumer reports will do one for $12.00. Is Kelly Blue Book close? I think that's a pretty good deal but I'd still like to know the costs.

Thanks,
wwr

wwr....send me the VIN of the car and Ill email you the price.....is the dealer talking profit as in from invoice to MSRP or net to MSRP ???? Little bit of a difference...;) .......

Reply to "Cost?"

I have no Vin # because the car hasn't been made. Price a 1sb with the following: clear top, 3.15 rear-end, (auto),MSRC,
No XM,NAV, or OnStar oh yeah standard Radio, one cassette
Player. Polished alloys. I think 1sb is the number. In other words a coupe with those extras.

Thanks,
wwr

Determining the "real" cost that a dealer pays (and profit made) is almost impossible.

In addition to the holdback paid by GM when a vehicle is sold, there are other incentives for selling certain vehicles, with certain options, in certain amounts, in certain regions, etc. etc.

The dealer also makes a profit on items related to the vehicle - financing, leasing, insurance, dealer installed options, add-ons (such as paint sealant, etc.), miscellaneous fees, etc.

Good luck.

Correct however, as I said in my post...is the dealer coming from net to msrp or invoice to msrp.....most likely invoice to msrp which leaves the dealers 3% holdback money in the rears...however I wouldnt hamper a dealer too muich for that cause he has a right to make money too....if he is going from invoice to msrp and cutting that in half...thats not too bad of a deal.....Ill get the equipment specd out as you posted and give you the info.......
