I am in the process of replacing the rearend cover on my 76. both of the ears are broken off of the old one, remaining ear just broke off. any suggestions on what to check while I am this deep in the rearend. I have the cross member off and am cleaning the surface rust off before replacing. also the obvious fluid change. the spring has less than 3000 miles on it, no slack in half shafts, what am I missing? thanks in advance
