I hear a squeaking sound coming from the back of the car - only when i back up. Its not loud - but loud enough to hear inside the car. It sounds rotational if that makes any sense. There is no sound when i shift into drive and move forward. Please tell me it is noting big:ugh

Apply the brakes very lightly while reversing. It might just be the pads scraping on the rotors.

Mikey,
I let the car backup today and didn't apply the brakes and the noise was still there. Other times I would back up with the brakes and there would be no noise. Its not consistant. Very confusing.

Look at the upper U-joint bolts to see if they are rubbing against the differential cover when the car is sitting on its wheels. My half shaft yoke on the right side was worn so bad that the nuts were cutting into the housing. What I thought was a squeak was a worn yoke and it was worse when backing up. May not be your problem , but worth checking.:beer

Thanks. I hope thats not the problem but I will definitly check to make sure!
