Rear gear on 90?

I was under the impression that the rear gear on my car is 3.33:1 though in the Callaway TT performance listings I could only see data for 3.45 (or was it 3.54?) rear equipped cars in 1990.

Anyone know what my car has? I think the info sticker in the centre console lid has a code that may show the gear - I know I've seen a key somewhere but you know what it's like - when you're looking you can't find it!

85mph is about 2,000 rpm on my car.

Out of interest anyone tried a higher gear like a 3.07 or 2.73? I'm pretty sure our torquey TT's would pull it - reckon we'd all get more than 200 mph (power permitting?)

G87 - Ring gear 8.50 inch
G92 - Rear axle performance ratio
GH0 - Rear axle 3.54 ratio
GM1 - Rear axle 2.59 ratio
GM3 - Rear axle 3.45 ratio
GT7 - Rear axle 3.33 ratio
GU2 - Rear axle 2.73 ratio
GW4 - Rear axle 3.31 ratio

Malc , More than likely, you will find your car to have 3.33's but verify this w/ the option code label in the center console lid.

3.54's ended in early 1989 - Pete - Your B2K is early enough - What gears do you have w/ your 6 speed???

I have the 354 gears in my car also if you notice the top speed fotr the Callaway is 191 mph and that is with the 354 gear.

I think 4.10's would hurt a stock TT L-98. There's not enough usable rpms to support such gears. Beside that, being that gears will mutiply the torque, with as much torque the twin turbos have all you'll do is burn rubber.

The car that became the 1988 "SE" Car had a set of 3.73's installed - That car wasn't stock though - had major porting done to it :eek
