Rear hubs or other?

Another ? Does the orange seal the arrow is pointing to come off, it looks in pretty good shape. The other hub looks pretty much the same but does not have that seal.

I suspect that you will have to get a seal to add to the new hub. It shouldn't be too awfully hard to find if you take the old one with you. It's there for a reason.

Had the same thing,

If you remove the old seal you will be able to see the bearings.

My new bearing did not require a seal as the newer ones are already sealed.

Mart, keep us posted when you get things all buttoned up as to whether or not the wheel slop gets solved. Found out my poly's are on back order. Cancelled & reordered from VBP...should get them soon. Hope this solves the problem.

Sorry, just had to.

When I was checking for the play in the wheel I was under the car and could not see or feel anything else moving when the wheel moved. I was originally going to do just the upper and lower control rods and the spring bolt.

So much for that plan, I amcurrently waiting on the strut rod bushings (Back order) and new sway bar bushings(greasable), these should be in monday.

BTW Mart... As I posted in the other thread, now that the rear bushings are all in, I don't have any more rear wheel slop. Problem solved.

I just removed everything from the drivers side rear and uh-oh, the bearing there has lots of play, with the wheel and rotor off I can move the hub at 6-12 and 9-3 and nothing else is moving, Scary. And to top it off the shock on that compress's and then takes 1 hr to return to full length.

Would love to throw Bilsteins on there but cost is prohibitive right now, KYB maybe.

Try Vette Brakes. I spoke to Jeff @ VB&P on the phone and told him that I found a set of 4 bilsteins from either Eckler's or Mid-Amer. for $257 a set(I think?) and he matched the price plus gave me a 10% Corvette club discount. I think I paid something like $ 238.00. Not bad I thought.

Well after waiting for 2 months for a set of control rod bushings, I finally finnished up the rearend, just need an alignment.

I really like the KYB's I put on it, and all the poly bushings really firms things up!

Meaning I found a rattle I did not know I had, time to pull the passenger side door panel off....ahhhhhhhhh.

Oh well things feel and look really good under there. new hubs, bushings and shocks, I'll post a pic once I get my camera back.

Next the front.................................:ugh

Thanks everyone for answers to the questions I asked along the way, boy did I learn alot about the rear end from this, If anyone is ever thinking about doing all the bushings, make sure you do the lower support rod it was the worst of them all, and the sway bar bushings were all distorted what a mess.

Congratulations on completing a tough job... consider yourself an expert on rear suspensions... You learned more than most will ever know...
Wish I had turned you onto the Bilstien connection... If memory serves me correct... $681 for a set of 4... or close to it anyway... what you have installed is very good regardless...
