Ok please help, I had a wiggle in the rear on deceleration at 60 mph and a rumbleing sound at slow ( 15 mph ). I replaced the halfshaft u joints and the rear wheel bearings and have fixed the wiggle. It was a bad u jount on the upper passenger side. Now for the rumble, it is a rotational rumble, like a dry wheel bearing. I have checked the rear for lube and it is full. Could it require the additive? Any additional ideas would be much appreciated.

figured it was the u-joint...

Try looking at the brakes, parking brake, wheel bearing....

Might as well jack it up and pull that side apart just to take a look see....

You do know your stuff !! I had it apart this weekend, both rear bearings are new, as are the break pads. From the posts here I was thinking of draining the rear and refilling. Any other thoughts?

Jack up the rear...put it on STABLE stands....rotate the tires in both directions by hand and see if you can hear where it is coming from. My other thought is very dangerous but would probably let you hear it...is while up in the air, drop it in gear and at idle go back and see if you can hear where it is coming from.
If you decide on the dangerous try....make sure you have help there, make darn sure you chock the wheels and not with just a brick or something. You might even want to jack up the whole car.

Morning,

I tried that over the weekend, with the car up and with the tires rotating, no noise !! That makes me wonder if it isn't the limited slip making noise. I assume even going streight, there is a slight rotational difference between tires.

You comment about brakes also hit home, possibly a roter is out of speck, I noticed when I changed the pads the passenger side ( where the noise comes from ) was 3 times more worn than the drivers side.

I am also beginning to think Im nutts, could it be the tires and I am just over critical?

Thanks
Ron
