I have a 2002 Z06 w/ 10,000 miles on it. I have recently noticed a very pronounced squeak or squeaks coming from the rear suspension, particularly the right rear, when I enter/exit driveways, alleys and parking garages.

This seems to be a semi-common problem with the C5 after looking at several forums.

Have any of you experienced this and, what did you do to fix it, or what did the dealer do/say?

I didn't find any technical bulletins on it, but I would think that the dealers would have already dealt with this.

Thank you.

HI there,
MOst likely sway bar bushings in the rear of the vehicle.
Its only common if the dealership does not address it before it becomes audible.

I had similar things. It worked out to be two issues.

The swaybar end links were loose. They caused squeeks and low speeds with differential corner loads (crossing a driveway at an angle) and rattles at higher speeds. Found that one by tightening them eventually (after checking almost every damn things else including the sway bar bushes, PCM mount, shocks, ...) and the noise stopped.

The muffler tongue on the right side had stuck to the dry rubber bush and squeeked when the muffler moved at the bottom of my driveway. Found that one by moving the muffler (push hard!). Sprayed a bit of DryGlide (CRC product) on it and made sure that both were free to move in the bushes.
