rear valance

OK Vig, the next few posts have the pics attached. There are no cracks in this piece. Only a few small chips in the paint here and there.

First pic: entire rear valance

Ok perfect timing

Here's mine ( not as pretty as yours)

Gee attaching the pix would help

The hardware is OLD ( read rusty ).. and it will take some doing getting it out.

One side

Sorry it's dark.. but I JUST got home

The best I can tell

It's not cracked.. but the paint is lifting in a couple of area's.. I looked to see if it was glassed back in.. but to be honest there is a bit of crud under there.. and I couldn't tell.

So now what?

Vig~

Looks good so far.

I guess we could both take our's off to get a look at the back side.

That will be a few days for me as I'm going to NY for the Easter weekend, then off to Fla on business until next Friday. Probably will be able to get it off the car and send new pics the weekend of 26/27 Apr.

I couldn't get pics of the inside either with it installed. If everything looks good when they are removed, then it's off to Mailboxes Inc. to ship them out.

Sounds like a plan

I'll try to SQUEEZE it in to this weekends fun.

Early Bird

... It's WORM picking time

LOL

Well looks like my rear valance was re glassed

Or this is factory.. but in that area where the holes would go through ( on the back of the panel) there is a different texture and it is square ( but they both match)

It looks like a pro job... but I am unsure what a factory panel should look like without the holes...

Confused

Vig,
I'm not sure either if it is stock or not. I'll check my AIM to see if the valance without holes has a different part number or if the holes were glassed in at the factory.
If there is a different part number, I'd rather go with a replacement panel vs a glassed over panel so I don't have to worry about cracks in the out-years. I'll let you know when I get back from my trip at the end of the week.

Hey Guys,

The rear lower panels for side exhaust cars were not glassed in rear exhaust panels.

For '65-'67 side exhaust cars the part number was 3863752*. These were press moulded panels and should have a uniform finish on front and rear without any evidence of repair or patching.

There were 3 part numbers used for rear exhaust cars depending on the year:

1)'63-early '64 used 3797190*.

2) Late '64 and '65 used 3877059*.

3)'66 and '67 used 3874799*.

I'm not sure what the physical differences in the rear exhaust panels were. You can thank me later for making this even more confusing. :D

Well back to square 1

Can somebody give me dimensions of the hole opening & locations ( x&y centers.. or ANYTHING!)
