Rear Window Defroster

Hi All,
I had a broken wire going to what appears to the rear window strut for the rear window defroster grid. Anyone know exactly how that setup works? Well I repaired the wire but can't tell if it's working. I have a multimeter which measures voltage. Anyknow how I can check to see if the defroster is working electrically?

HI there,
Simply go from one strut wire, to the wire on the other side.
It should lite a test lamp brightly when on.
12 volts minimum.
