it took me about 2 days of work a few hours each day....(you know, I had to pace myself, but a week overall) to actually pull out all of the rear once I got past my STUBBORN parts, but with a little help from here and some hammers, it all worked out!!!!

check out the pics and tell me what you think???

got a few before and after shots.....
got plenty of in between shots too of that process, if anyone wants to see just say the word and ill put some on.

the in between shots are of the T/A, rear leaf, strut bars, differential, and shock mounts (this was the hardest for me)!!

BUT.... now im stuck on the rear cross member that holds the Differential.......how dose this piece come out, I already undid the 2 bolts underneath.....
It looks to be spot welded from the top side, but they sell the replacement bushings for it, so I has to come off some how??
any suggestions.???

David,

Don't remove that cross bar...unless you want a bunch of headaches trying to get it back on!

I inspected it when I was at your house, and it...as well as the bushings are in great shape. Just blast around it and apply your POR15 and let it ride.

You did it David!

Boy does that look familiar. That's exactly what my frame looks like right now.

Bill

Chris......
well after talking to you, that cross member support is staying right where it is......
but I'm sure you know that for a reason, and I’m sure I wouldn’t want to find out the hard way.... so on it stays....

thanks again.... and just got done putting together my engine stand, so by Saturday all the parts on engine as well as the block and tranny should be off the frame, an then it will be time to weld and fix a few minor parts and get ready to POR the frame.....

hope the top of the hill is coming here soon, cause I’m ready to start coming down, and start to tackle the body.....

Bill,
I see were still on pace to finish at the same time......:L
well I hope anyway......it took me long enough to get here, but things should start moving a bit faster now.
I’m fixing to post my pics of my body coming off, but I just haven’t sat down here long enough to do it. but, it is coming.
like to see what your look likes right now......oh wait, let me just look in my garage.....;LOL
...but if you get a chance post some for the rest to see too, since they don’t have access to my garage to know what im looking at....
keep up the work, and soon we'll both be sporting newly redone C3's.......
Dave

Dave,

I sure enjoy seeing somebody with a whole lot of ambition. :L

Are you going to try to coat the inside of the rails too?

Tom

Tom,
well that is my goal.....
ill see what I can get, or I should say how hard it is to get in there, but I was thinking of spraying the inside of the channels and the hard to reach areas, and then just brushing on the easy stuff....
then again, I may just spray the whole thing instead.
but either way its getting the POR treatment on every single inch of that frame....

will keep you updated, as I go thru the process....

Dave
