Recall 04006 FACTS

c4c5specialist, are the Corvettes that were manufactured after 2000 and equipped with the automatic transmission and delivered in the U.S.A. (such as mine is) subject to this recall?

I got the recall letter for my 02 should I just ignore it?
HI there,
I would not ignore it. Just simply consult your dealership for further information on the availability of parts.
Just make sure you tell them you have a letter for the recall.

I am now wondering if BassPro2's Corvette has an auto transmission and was delivered in the U.S.A. If this is the circumstance, it would appear that GM is not being very selective about sending notices out - they have just hit the send button to all 127,000 owners. We shall see; I have not received a recall notice as yet. Hopefully GM will have its act together regarding who gets the notice and who does not.

What if we have a corvette with numbers for a steering column lock recall but dont get a letter?

HIthere,
This will depend on your VIN. If you go to a dealership for service, they will run what is called a VIS, to check for recalls.
When that is done, they will know if your vehicle applies to the recall, and perform it.
