hello all,
Is anyone familiar with a good, reliable mechanic in the fort lauderdale area? Nothing major needed- replace clutch and some carb work
thanks for the help

HI, Mike! :)

Funny that you should ask! My brother, Andy Klein, lived in Ft. Lauderdale for about 30 years. There was only ONE mechanic who he would take his cars to.

Art is the owner of Layton's Garage, 114 SW 9th St., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33315.
His phone number is (954) 463-3333.

This guy is phenomenal. :upthumbs I had the opportunity to meet him and use his services. This was a couple of years ago when I was driving an older BMW convertible from Ft. Lauderdale to Chicago. There were some issues with the brakes and some other items, and the car was fixed flawlessly. You can mention my brother to him. He would remember that Andy drove 82 to 86 Olds Cutlass 2 dr. RWD coupes.

He might remember the Beemer.

if that doesn't work out, lmk and i'll get you the name and number of a great mechanic in the area (i live in hollywood and have a buddy who's dad has had a garage in the same location in the ft laud area for the past 40 years). he has a master mechanic who has owned virtually nothing but vettes for the past 35 years or so and just helped my friend do a frame off on a 71 cpe. my buddy has done several frame off restores going all the way back into the 60's and he swears by this mechanic.

mike, i have lived in fort lauderdale for 30 years. i have used Steve Norris, R & S Automotive 954-563-9805 in Oakland Park all these years. he works on customs and and anything "zoom-zoom". great guy, small shop, honest as they get and reasonable. oh, by the way did i mention that i am very CRAZY/FUSSY about my whips? hope this helps.

if you're looking for a reliable florida auto repair mechanic, i think this will helps you. try to visit automd and click the auto shops. from there you can find the list of auto shops located in florida. hope that this will help in locating a good mechanic. at least you have a list of florida auto repair shops and these are very reliable shop since it was accredited by automd.
