Remove Inner Door Panel

It is time to replace the window molding on my 92. I understand you have to remove the inner door panel to get to the rivets that you have to drill out. Now my problem. The book indicates you have to remove the door lock slider on the panel by lifting and turning. No luck. Don't want to force something and make more work and expense for myself. Please let me know if there is a link or some sage advice out there on how to get the panel off.

I already did the same job. The slider was tight, but I figured it had to come off, so if it broke, I'd replace it. It came right off when I pulled hard enough and did not break.

I have done this a few times. It snaps on and off. It is tough, but it does come out.

Mine came off kinda easy.

They are a friction fit so you just have to tug on it

I bent a small but stiff wire and slid it behind the lock slide and between the slide and the locking wire. This gave me a little extra leverage to pop the slide off.

Ok I guess I will stop being a wimp and go out and give it a mighty tug and hope I have the same success that you all have had.
Thanks for the help.
