The "spoiler" vane on my factory luggage rack is peeling it's black paint. How do I remove just the vane to have it painted?

First thig to do is remove the ribbed, black plastic/rubber strip on the last bar on each side of the decklid. Take a small, thin bladed screwdriver and pry it up between the strip and the plastic end cap at the front of the bar. Underneith yoy will find at least 2 screws that hols the bars to the decklid. Once these are out the 2 bars should just lift off. The "vane" is held on with 1 screw on the underside of each end. Personally, I would find someone who would powdercoat the "vane" instead of painting it.

Thanks, jim
it worked just like you described. The key issue was in how to remove the ribbed parts. They were a mystery and I didn't want to pry around at randon.

Glad I could help.
