My 95 coupe had some custom body work done to it (most of which I am not TOO fond of). One of the things the guy before me did was shaving the door handles. I am almost certain that this part has burned out (the solenoid) so I need to get inside the door to replace it. I got the bottom tacs or whatever they are out, as well as the screw behind the door handle and the two screws in the mini-tray just below the door handle assembly. I tried to remove the interior panel and it wobbles and almost comes loose, but it looks like the door handle assembly is holding it in. How do I get the door handle assembly out? Theres only one visible screw (trust me, I looked carefully) and it won't budge. Anybody know how to get this thing off? THANKS.

did you get the screw out that is behind the sliding lock lever??...that plastic lever that you push in and out,if you pull it foward a bit,i think there is one behid it...also,if you pull the panel foward and look down in between the back of the door panel and where the inner door frame is[glass side]...sometimes i have seen one on that side that goes from the glass side, into the back of the panel...to me it sounds like you just dont have all the screws out

I have a 93 and I found a screw behind the curtosy light just above the handle. Light popped out with a little prying. Good Luck, Tim

OK, I think I found what your talking about, but how do I get a screw driver in there?? Its impossible to just stick a screw driver in there with the door locking lever in the way. Is there any way I can remove it? Thanks again.

Check the manual if you got 'em

If not, there is only one screw behind the door lock assembly. First, pull or pry the lock lever off. It snaps onto a metal sliding piece. Second, you've got to pry the courtesy lamp free from the top down. It just snaps into place. Then you'll see the screw and it shouldn't be difficult to get to. Then you've got to wiggle the door assembly free and you're good to go.

On my 94 the only really hiden screw was in the door curtisy light. Like others have said you just pop off the clear cover and there it is.

The door handle/lock area just slide the lock bar forward and it will be able to be pulled off as it is just a pressed on part. Then slide the lever back (locked position). You will have to play with the door opening lever and the panel together to get it thru the hole but that should be it.

Not hard to get off. I have not been able to get mine to fit right at the top when putting it back on ?? Doesn't seem to catch and keeps popping loose:mad
