We recently bought a 1986 red convertible - our first Vette so we are totally new to this! The battery is dead and my husband just went to remove it to put a charge on it down in the garage. He says it looks more involved than he is used to - any tips on how to do this? We really would appreciate it - it's finally warm here and I want to take it out!!

:confused

a 10mm wrench to loosen the bottom bolt under the gills, you only have to loosen not take out the bottom bolt.two or three screws
in the wheel well that hold the gill panel, then one on top of the
panel and that panel should slide right out giving you full acsess
to the batterie. if i missed something iam sure someone will click in
and update.
now get out there and put that batterie in
AND DRIVE!:)

Thank you so much!!

We are running and I am out of here!!:Steer

This board is great!! Thanks a million!!!;worship

Yes, the first time I had to pull the battery out of my '87 I went through the same thing. How the heck do you get that thing out of there... I finally broke down and got out the shop manual - step 1 - remove fender... Well, it turned out not to be a big deal...

Not like the time I had to do a heater core on my Mustang GT - step 1 - remove dash... and they didn't mean the pad!

Happy cruisin' - GT
