Removing Decals

2016 triple black vert.
I'm considering buying a fellow club member's 01 vert next spring when he upgrades to a C6. He has several decals, such as GS hash marks on the fender and two long logos that say "Corvette" down the center of the hood. I'm not sure I like them and will probably remove them if I buy the car.

Are there any tricks for removing the decals? I know that if there is any residue left from them I've had good luck using 3M adhesive remover. But how do I get them off in the first place? If I lift up a corner and then pull them off will I damage the paint underneath? Would using a hair dryer to heat them up make them easier to remove?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Ron

I'd do like you said, pull up a corner carefully, the I would soak the decal with soap and water while using the hair dryer to loosen up the adhesive. When I was a graphics technician way back when, this is how we removed vinyl forn plexiglas and worked fairly well.

Good luck and just watch that electrical cord around the soap and water!!! :W
