Considering removing hood insulation and having a mural air brushed on underside of hood. Is the insulation really nesessary? Obviously don't want to damage exterior paint from excessive heat! Has anybody done this?

Don't do it ..... you have a ZO6 ! not some ricer POS !if you want a painting bop down to mexico they got some great velet elvis's ..... your car is special its not something that needs redecorating ...... if you want to redecorate do it in your house or on a water tower . SAY IT WITH KRYLON !!!!

The long term effects of heat exposure will damage the paint.

Suggestion: Remoove the insulation and have a mural airbrushed on the insulation and reinstall. People do it all the time.

Paint the hood blanket. The paint underneath the blanket is not as nice at the hood. I have had 3 hood blankets painted . Airbrush the logo isn't rice; it's personalization!
