:confused I have just rebuilt my rear trailing arms, bearings, etc.. I tried to
remove the 4 bolts holding the rear spring, however they do not
want to move! I am afraid of putting too much torque on the bolts,
especially the ones in the ears of the rear end cap. Has anyone
had a similar problem? Any help would be most appreciated.

Hit them with some heat and Kroil or PB blaster. Let them soak a while.

They'll break loose easier if the car is on its wheels when you initially loosen them (and the car MUST be on wheels when you tighten them).

I had the same problem a long time ago with my 71.

When trying to get them out with hand tools, even a long breaker bar, penetrant--I use Aerokroil--didn't help. I finally had to use an impact gun and ripped the threads out of two of the holes with the bolts.

I repaired the two holes with a Time-Sert kit and I put Time-Serts in the other two holes for good measure.
