Could someone please tell me where the fuel regulator is on my '89? Also replacement instructions would be helpful. Also where and how to hook up a PSI gauge. I have checked my injectors using an OHM meter and they are all 18.0 except 2 of them. One of those is 18.1 and the other is 17.9. I assume this means the injectors are cool and the regulator is the probable suspect. Thank you in advance. This place is really cool!

Just to start I will tell you where the stuff is on my 90, I don't know if it is the same on yours.

The valve to check fuel pressure is on the fuel rail on the passenger side toward the back of the motor.

Hook up the guage then turn the ingnition on , don't start the car, it should read around 42 lbs.

The regulator on mine is at the back of the fuel rails more toward the passenger side. You need to remove the plenum to get to it.

At the very least, I would take the plenum off. You can do this by loosening the bottom runner bolts that bolt into the intake manifold. Take off the four bolts holding the TB on. Disonnect the throttle cables. Also there are vacuum lines that are connected under the plenum. The MAP sensor is also down there. Dont forget the vacuum line at the very back that goes to the brake assist. It is easy to miss. This is about it to do on an 86.

I have read your other questions elsewhere on the list.

Coinsidering the work you plan to do, you need to purchase a Factory Servce Manual. That will answer many of the questions you might post here and...then some.

Thank you for your feedback. I was just hoping someone could answer a few simple questions. Mainly if my injector numbers are OK. If you have that answer it would really be helpful. If not I appreciate your help anyway. Thank you.

All I can tell you is the Multi-tec injectors in the 90 were 16.4, except for the one bad one.

I replaced all with BoschIII.

I am not sure ,But I haven't seen any readings from anyone with that high of a reading.

They all seem to be within the tolerence of each other.

Hot and cold?

I just read your other posts, your injectors ohm's are fine.

So you are saying that yours was 16.4
Did you get 16.4 when the car was hot as well?
If so then my 18.0 hot would be bad. Or are you saying yours was higher when hot as well?

16.4 cold, i didn't check them hot, but I understand they will be a little higher hot, yours seem to be ok as far as the ohm readings are concerened.

FYI, My bad injector read 4.5 ohms cold.GM says anything under 10 cold is a bad injector.
