When installing new ball joints has anyone gone with rivets instead of bolts, like original? Did the rivet installation require any special tools?

Thanks,
Doug

I'm sure you would need forming dies to properly shape the rivet and get them tight. Are you looking at judging or just driving?

Tom

Just a driver, but I have been doing things right (according to the books) whenever possible in case I or someone else might decide to be have it judged someday.

I noticed that Paragon sells the rivets, so I assume they must be able to be installed.

Has anyone attempted this?

Nope....got on with the screws. Would do the the same....if one someday would go for judging you can keep the rivets in a little side package...:D

I had mine re-riveted...on both my C3 and C2. I had the A frames off of the cars at the time. I took them to a Corvette shop that had the capability to do this job. I don't believe you can do this on the car. I wouldn't attempt to re-rivet them myself unless I had the proper tools. Chuck
