The glass top on my 86 has stripped bolts on the front. I can't tighten it down. How do I replace these? I found out how to get to the ones at the top of the windshield but how do you replace the ones on the top it's self?

Go to your local Chevy dealer. If the bolts you are referring to are the ones that hold the top onto the top of the winshield frame, they are available for about $4.

I know I can get the bolts and they aren't that expensive. I cant figure out how to take the trim off the roof panel to get to the hardware to replace it on the panel it's self. The sleeve that the bolt goes into is stripped also. Unbeknownst to me the person we bought the car from had removed the little cones that keep that sleeve in place. So each time we removed the top we were cross threading the bolt and sleeve. I can' tell you how mad this makes me.

Have problem w/solid roof bolt removal.

I put my roof panel on last month and tightened the bolts as I normally do.
When I tryed to loosen the front bolts under the visor, it felt like the inside of the torxhead cracked on the passenger side. Anyone know how to remove it without having to drill it out? BLW: It's a late model 86

HELP!

No, this isn't it. This is a diagram for a comvertible. I have a coupe with a acrylic roof panel. I need to know how to get to the hardware (bolt sleeve) that is on the roof panel its self.
