My driver power window suddenly stopped working, no down, so no up. Passenger window still works fine. I have a switch, so before I pull my door panel off, I thought the easiest first step would be the center console. But since the seat is there, it may be a little difficult.
So what I'm finally asking is for any tips on getting to the switch from under the center console to replace it.
Any help would be Great! :)

Well the window switches are on the console right? At least on my 79 they were there. And if you take out the three screws holding the console side on and remove the screws holding down the front 2, and at the back 2, then you can lift the entire console up, disconnect the plug, and using a 5/16 small wrench ( a small socket set is best) you can remove one screw, and loosen the other and with a little patience you can remove the switch. Make sure you put the switch back exactly as you removed the old one or when you try to put the window down, it'll go up, and when up, it'll go down. It's a simple job, just use a little patience and it'll go smooth as silk.

I've successfully removed and replaced window switches by removing just the carpeted side panel on the side the bad switch is on. No need to disturb the console.
It helps to have a 90* ratcheting phillips screwdriver to get the screw next to the seat out.

I'm not sure how you managed that. I thought it was a PITA as well and removed all the screws to lift up the console for easier access to replace the switch. I decided if I was going that far, I would replace everything else needing my attention so I completely removed the whole console and center guage cluster....:boogie

I also took everything apart to remove the switch the FIRST time. Took the switch apart and cleaned the copper leaves inside. Worked great, BUT, I put the switch insides back in 180* off so that it worked opposite from original. Didn't like that pass side worked one way and driver side worked the other.
Didn't REALLY want to tear it all apart again. Found I could get at it through the side panel. Switch screws are hex head so a small wrench worked unbolting it.
