I was never a big fan of the early cruise control systems on any cars prior to the mid-80s. They are very caveman-ish and clunky in operation. Who wants this system to have all the fun, I want to feel the power in my foot !!

I have removed all parts of this system from my 81. I am ready to replace the turn signal switch and was wondering if I can install the TS switch without cruise into my steering column ? The other benefit is, it is a hell of allot cheaper then one with the cruise feature.

I would love to hear from anyone who has done this switchout. Thanx !!

I have a 1977 and it is probably differant than the 81....but....my
cruise control is on the steering tilt arm and cannot be changed out with the non cruise arm.

My 1980 had an aftermarket cruise with mid 80's cruise lever. I ripped out the cruise and replaced the lever with a non-cruise lever... definately cheaper lever. Should not be a problem as the lever post is a press fit into the steering column regardless of cruise or no cruise. I think I purchased the lever off ebay for around $15.00 or so.
