Reprograming Remote from 2004 to 199 Vette

I purchase a 2004 Corvette and purchased a new Remote and now I want to reprogram the Remote to be used in the 1999 Corvette, how do I do this with out the instruction that I have lost. :confused

Hmm. Now that I read the original posting more closely, I think you might be correct. As I recall, the early C5's had some kind of "proximity" system that unlocked the vehicle when the fob was brought in the vicinity of the vehicle; the later C5's eliminated that central locking system in favor of a more "conventional" one.

Not sure what year Chevy switched it over, but I know my '04 doesn't have it, and a '98 convertible that I was considering for purchase several years back did...
