1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
I just got the Febuary Vette magazine. And there are alot of cool cars in the magazine. They also have a showcase of some of the conversion frame builders.

Page 59 shows a 60 called "X-TREME 60" that has a 65/66 big big block hood on it simular to the one I had planned on doing with my car with a 67 hood.
I was almost convinced not to graft the 67 hood B/B hood skin onto the 62 because they said it would look like a "ricer" had built the car.I hope Wes and John McGraw get to see this magazine

If your interested in these custom corvettes this is a must have magazine this month.

Larry,

I just read this issue today and they did a nice job of featuring several great cars. I'm sure there will be some ideas for you to consider using on your own project.

They did a nice job of grafting the 66 hood on the 60. I have also seen a 62 which used a 67 style hood so anything is possible. While I prefer the stock style hood, depending on the engine used and clearance needed, that approach can be one way to address hood clearance.

I got too many good ideas, Seeing the bottom of the first SR111 car definatley firmed up painting the frame a metalic color.

As for the hood clearences If I stick with the original plan for a single 4 barrel carb I do not need more room.If I go with the tri power I need more room.My original plan was to remain completely stock on the outside except for the color, type of top (Black hartz) and wheels. We will see how thing progress.

I am in the process of collecting all of my chrome peices and it seems one of the suppliers/reproducers is having a problem. The horn button is back ordered till January and the rear top bow latches date out to April 05.

Billy Dawson had his blue 59 Corvette (which is featured in this edition of Vette) with the rolling C4 chassis he sells at the Houston Autorama last week. Cool car. It has the WiseGuy seats, and Billy let me sit in it. I'm 6'6", and I actually felt comfortable in it - much more leg room. His 15" steering wheel (which he manufacturers) helped as well. Very nice gentleman.
