1975 with a 454 installed. Original car had air conditioning but 454 wasn't installed with it on. I want to retrofit it but don't have original parts from original matching 350. Need advise on aftermarket A/C vs. restoring A/C from say a 74 454 set up. Have original condensor, no VIR, all interior controls and ducting in place.

Space,
Did you convert over to R134a or stay with R12?
Mine is of the '68 but I want to get it going again, so hot here int he summer.
I have heard of Hotrodair, were they reasonable??

Thanks

My 68 never had A/C even though it was available. The new system takes R134a.

HotRod is very reasonable and their system is easy to install. There tech team is good to work with too if you have any questions about installation. They're outside of San Antonio in the town of Selma.

I know what you mean by hot... I live in Houston.

Come On Texas Fall!!!

You know what we are gonna have.....2 days where the leaves turn color, fall off and then temps in the 30's.......

It was almost a 100 here today.....I'm ready for a cool wave!

I have a hotrod air system in my 77 also. Easy to install works great. I modified the control panel though to make it look better, theirs was a little cheesy.

J & D corvette in California has the hard to find parts (I had to get new ducting and a suitcase due to a fire), I converted my '69 to R134a when the system was redone, if I had it to do over I would have kept the system R12.
