Ok, after a bunch of reading I've decided to put the Richmond 6 speed in place of my burned out 4+3 (1986).

The question I have for those who have accomplished this, is what gear ratios did you select? Are the standard ratios they use for this use proper?

OD is .76 compared to .68 I believe, so instead of 2000 rpm @73 mph, it'll be about 2150 @70mph. Not too much of a difference.

Thanks.

I went with the ratios there were used "off the shelf", that is, I purchased mine without changing the ratios with which they were made. With the 3.73:1 gears I already had in the rear end, I'm banging second almost immediately. It actually though, suits me just fine, seeing as how I plan on more short-burst, straight-line acceleration tests. :bu (Read: "drag racing" ;))

I also used the richmond 6 with the stock gearing. The 71 has a 3.08 rear, from what i have been able to figure it will run about 2100 at 70. The richmond has two overdrive's ava and I went with the .76. this is in a 71 vert with a bb. hope it helps robert
