What is the WIDEST:confused combination i could use under stock wheel wells?

Jack

I went thru www.newstalgiawheel.com and followed what they suggested and they are a perfect fit. I got Cragar S/S 15x6 with 3 3/8" offset and 215/70R15 BF T/A's. I was hoping to go 7" wheels and a little larger tire but I went with what they suggested and I am glad I did.

6" rims with stock offset are about as wide as you can go without risking fiberglass damage with 15" tires.

Are you going to go with larger diameter wheels? Just fitted 8x17 wheels with 245 tires to my friends 64 coupe.

I have the '69 rallye wheels (15") on my '65 which are (I believe) 7" or 8" wide with Z-rated Cooper Cobra 60 profile 225s on them. I ended up with this size after my Cooper dealer tried various widths and profiles to get the most tire under the wheel well without any interference. They have performed flawlessly and are great in bad weather or good, low speed or high... :bu

I just installed a set of Torq Thrust ll 15x7 wheels with 3 3/4 set back mounted with 215 65R 15 Goodyear Assurance Tripple Tread tires. Body is stock all around. I have ample clearance with up and down movment also while turning. I'm very pleased with the combination. The tires bit reeal goo also.
