Well tonight me and my brother went out with both vette's to a road that they just black toped to see what kind of marks we could make. Well we both hit it at about two miles an hour and his just roasted the back tires and the back end slid out and all. Well my car does not roast them per say like his car does. I know my engine might not be broken in yet to the fullest but, even before this and long before the head gasket his car always seemed to light them up more then mine did the only other mod he had is true dual exhaust. I was thinking my throttle positioning sensor might be going bad? Any help would be appreciated.

Justin,

All I can say is :D

He's probably got lower gears in his dif.:) You get better mileage than him?

I know mine are 2:73's, I think his are the same but im not 100 percent sure. But the mileage factor is about the same.

You may have "sticky tires" and his are "high mileage" hard tires. Also does your year have ASR (traction control)? To do a big smoky burn out you turn that off.

2.73 is a high (low numeric) rear end. My 96 has a 3.45 & after market gets you into 4.XX.

add some timing, loose the precats, use a high flow cat and do your cheap mods and you should have no problem lighting them up. i just did a short vid of mine from a 1100 rpm stall on cold tires and i lit them up into 2nd gear about a good 100 feet from a dig. i can spin them over in 1st gear at 30 mph in this heat. during the winter from a 40 mph romp she'll spin. this is on F1's which are soft :D all this on a 2.59 gear ;)

I live right outside of South Bend. No I have not seen Amish do burnouts, how would they? lol

I think you said your rear end slid around??
I almost hit the guard rail at the drags and on the next run I went over the center line.
All I needed was a rearend align and the rear end fluid changed one set of rear clutches in the rear were locking on the right and not on the left.
Instant left turn .
Later I found out that all vetts have the same problem after 75,000 miles.
just change the rear fluid.
Hope this helps.

Thats true as my right does a harder burn. Right rear tire is bad! Left looks ok still. All going to discard pile soon.Justin, its in how they power brake the buggy!lol!
