Question: Roof Panel Carrier

Does anybody know where you can get a roof pannel carrier that mounts on the luggage rack for cheap?

I just found one on ebay. However, is there a problem with the rack being a 6 or 8 mount type?

The 8 hole rack is the one you need. It has to have the mounting pins for the brackets on the two outer bars and the two inner bars. I have several sets what are you thinking price wise when you say cheap?

Correct; they're different, but both carried the V54 option code.

6 hole racks do not have pins to mount the optional V54 hardware; 8 hole racks are supposed to have the pins.

Be aware there is an aftermarket hardware kit to mount the t-top carrier hardware to the rack which does not require the pins. It uses clamps.

76-77 racks OEM racks had locator pins. 8 hole stainless steel aftermarket racks have the locator pins chrome racks do not. The after market T top mounting kits that i am aware of require the locator pins.

Not intended as topic -jack, but would you have a picture of the carrier installed, without the T-tops, Bill?

I have the 4 mounts, but not the carriers, and would like to see them; what wording would work when searching E-bay?
