last week at the Friday night car show at old town i found out one of my front running lights was not working. It turned out to be just a broken wire. After fixing it i noticed that the bulb was only using the low coil and not the bright or high beam side. I tried to mess with the switched in the car but couldn't figure out how to get them on the bright setting. I'm thinking it could be a relay. Its an 87 corvette coupe.

If you are talking about the headlights, the running lights will go off when you switch to high beams. That's what they are supposed to do.
