Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

sandblasting was not fun today

to get the frame dipped so that it is clean inside and out of rust or anything else is around $600.....they do apply a slight rust inhibitor, but not enough to let it sit outside in the rain....so that means it needs to go right to coating of some type......they do have a source for e-coating the frame...I have a phone call into them to find out a price....funny thing about the e-coaters is that it is right in my town!!! Norwalk.....

I was laughing when told their location....so at any rate, when I hear back from the e-coaters, perhaps I will go that route.....e-coating can be done in a day, the chemical stripping guys need 5 to 6 days.....by the way, I am told that the e-coaters can do entire bodies.....turns out these guys make the bodies for the big trucks that are painted and assembled by the BIG OTR truck manufacturers.....small world....stand by for more updates as I get them.....
