I'm doing some seam repair on my 64 prior to paint . . I got a repair book on corvettes from Glas-ra and it tells how to do the repair but doesnt list what type of adhesive to use in the "v" that's left after you remove the bad adhesive . . I emailed glas-ra but the guy wont recommend any specific products!! How can I do the repair right if I dont know what materials to use!! No one in my sleepy little town knows what I"m talking about so if you really know I would appreciate a quick response! Thanks again for all those that have been a help to me!

I'm also in CO. Which sleepy little town might you be in? We're out in the Brighton area. You must have an insulated/heated garage because it's freezing outside.
I have zero experience with body repair but Best of Luck!

Seams

Hi!

If you are referring to the body panel seams, I hollowed ground the seams and filled the depression with fiberglass matt (not screen) and resin. I left the repair slightly lower than the desired level and applied Evercoat Gold. Sand with a 10" to 12" sanding board working from the high levels to the low levels.

My $.02

I visited a local restoration shop and they recommended a product called 'Fibral'. It's a 'liquid' fiverglass/ filler for reparing cracks and seems. I saw some repairs using it and it's what I'm going to use. Expensive $40 for a tube/ pouch of it but I'm sure one package will do. Then they use a product called 'Slick Sans' to prime and seal the body.

That's my $0.02:s
