Decided to try and fix the back angle switch on my 86 the other day. Unscrewed the black thing that the switch is in... The switch has a capacitor on the bottom of it, no wonder it didnt work. The capacitor fell right off when i pulled the switch out. Cant find it to replace it.

Anyone know what i should put in there?

thanks,

I had the same problem with one of my switches and looked briefly to find a capacitor, but the rest of the switch was corroded so I just replaced it with one from junkyard that was in better shape. But I did write down the numbers off the capacitor I found as best I could see them. My capacitor was a thin round red radial lead capacitor. The numbers were 22Z1/6EP4.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that it is a 22 picofarad capacitor, 80% tolerance, although there is a chance that it is 220 pf. The 1 on the end is usually in the third position and is the multiplier. If so, then it is 220 pf, not 22 pf.

Hope that helps.
