SEAT BELT INTERLOCK..esp 1974's

GREETINGS, my 74 came with the seat-belt system that disable the starter unless the seat belt was latched. my question is: is it possible to remove the reset box in the engine compartment? mine is just above the a/c heater box.
i've had some intermitten starting problems and think this might be the problem ....

MATT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. that was just the info i needed. i previously checked the neutral switch and related wiring. the by-pass was the only thing that was left.
the pictures are excellent. i will take care of that at work tomorrow.
