Is the "decoding"of the date codes on the 1967 belts typical.
If there is a "6E67" stamped on the belt, is this May 6, 1967? Or is it a Dec. 6 1967? (using the body tag months)
Thanks Ken

First time I've seen that question on a forum. Darned if I know, and I think they were made by a company named "Airchute" in Detroit area that has since gone out of business. But if nobody else comes up with the answer, you might try calling "Seat Belt City" in NJ at 908-719-2354 to see if they know. They claim to restore old Corvette seat belts, and to sell 58-71 Corvette seat belts.

Seat belt date coding is a hybrid Julian format - 6E67 is the 6th week of 1967 ("E" is for the model/style of the belt assembly).

Correct date code.

Thanks John,
That makes sense, since the cars build date is Feb. of '67.
I couldn't see it being the May date code.
Thanks for the information!!!
