I know there is a safety mechanism that will cause the seats to lock in the case of a wreck, but for some reason, my passenger side seat won't fold forward anymore and I don't know how to fix it. I am assuming that the safety feature is accidentally engage and that I need to reset it, but I am not sure how to do this. Any ideas?

The inertia hinges can sieze up with age. Remove the hinge and you might be able to rebuild it.

:)

Remove the plastic hinge covers and on the back you can see the safety switch. Easy to reset and to see what the problem is. :)

seat latch

My 79 drivers seat was that way. It was latched on the right side. I took a long, thin blade screw driver and went in on the front and flipped the latching mechanism a few times and it freed it up and works perfect now. Took me about 10 seconds. If you look with a flashlight in from the front, you'll see where you have to work with the screw driver. :thumb
