I just sent my front and rear bumpers & rear lic. plate bumper (5 pieces) to Nu Chrome in MA for an exact price quote. They called me today just a day after receiving the parts. The price is higher than the email quote which I am not that surprised at due to the fact that one front bumper has a rust through spot and they said they would really need to see it. This place seems to have a good rep. and also seems very organized. They quoted me $1300.00 after seeing the parts. Is this a fair price? My dilemma is that at this price I can buy new front bumpers and just have the rear bumpers chromed, and I could probably auction off my front cores to pick up a few bucks to boot. New front bumpers at Paragon are about $360 each with my discount.

So should I:
(A) Try to negotiate the price with the chromer? Has anyone done this successfully?
(B) Just go for the new bumpers?
(C) Take a vacation?

Update: My plater did give me a discount when I gave them a deposit. Knocked $200.00 off the original quote.
:)

Hope to have them back in a couple of weeks.

Hi Larry,
I haven't sent out any of the posts yet. I was glad to hear that your windshield frame came apart easily. That is in my (near) future also. You were able to get your windshield glass from a local shop? I am going to try to keep my windshield.... I may change my mind when I take a good look at it again but I remember it being in very good shape. I am finding that allot of emblem and small trim pieces are on back order. I just cleaned up my hub caps and they look almost new even though they aren't perfect. I put new spinners on them and that really made them look sharp. Good luck with the dash pad. Make sure you have a full dose of patience before beginning.
