Separation

Just took the hardtop off my 'vert and noticed that I'm starting to get some separation where the rear glass is connected to the fabric on the soft top.
Any suggestions as to what to use to re-attach? I tried super glue, but I never have any luck with it. Might be that the fabric has some contamination down inside.
I was thinking maybe some double sided carpet tape.
Any help is appreciated.

you can try velcro strips with adhesive backing. apply 'male' side of velcro to one piece and apply 'female' side of velcro strip to the other side. can be found at Home Depot or any other local hardware store. good luck

i have the same problem with my 94 vert. i brought it to my vette guy and he says he tried EVERYTHING but the customers always come back with it starting to separate again. my top started to look kinda crappy anyway so i bought a new one. go with the glass top and depending on how bad your weather stripping is, i would do it all at the same time. mines in the shop right now getting all of the above.

I also have the same problem with my 94. I tried spray adhesive which worked for a while, however the sun soften the adhesive. There is some on the glass which I am using 3M adhesive remover to clean up. I am going to have an upholstery shop look at it.

just got my car back with the new top and weather stripping. oh my god. its a new car. on the rear deck the top is flush with the body now. it used to sag up top but now its real tight. plus the doors close with with a thump instead of a rattle because of the old hard shrunken weatherstripping.
