Good Morning Everyone !

Yesterday while running an errand, the engine didn't fire off @ 1st like usual. I waited a few seconds and on the 2nd attempt she fired up, it cranked just a second or two longer than normal. I noticed the Service Engine Soon Light remained on. The other few starts the rest of the day went without a hitch.

The Service Engine Soon Light remained on Solid after that, a few things . . .

1. Is there anyway of resetting Information Center Lights?
2. What should I check?
3. Should I take Her 2 da Vett/Car Doctor 4 a Check Up?

Thanks . . . . . .

Hey 6, chances are you have set a code due to some sort of fault. On the OBDII computer, it won't reset by disconnecting the battery. However, it will reset all by itself after a certain number of starts without seeing the code present.

You need to ground out the ADL and get the code. It will flash out in a specific rhythm on the IP after you ground the connector. This way you can find out if it is a serious issue of any sort.

Otherwise, you will need someone with a full diagnostic scanner to read it, then clear it on the spot.

You can get one from www.actron.com The Kal equip line has some nice units that are great for the DIY'er.

Thanks for the great link, 69MyWay.
I have a '95 Corvette and the wife has a '95 Blazer. The explanations on that site help figure out what PCM each has, it's been a real mystery up til now.

I want to say 200 or 250, but that is just a wild guess. I actually know this number, but have forgotten it!!!!!!!

It went away . . .

It took about 10 starts for the Service Engine Soon Light to go away. :upthumbs

I love it when a plan comes together . . .

If it is an OBDII system, most of the larger auto chains will let you use thier scanner for no charge. It may be an indication of something that may leave you stranded someday.

Good luck,
