Service Traction System alert came on?

Driving vette hit brakes than engine light came on with service traction system alert and reduced speed what up? Please do not say I have to take to dealer..........many miles away

Pull the codes and find out what the problem is.

Did the system allow full power after restarting the engine? Is there still a warning in the Driver Information Center?

Opened hood saw my belt was ripped and hitting wires next to throttle body like a weed wacker causing some kind of short. Problem have under pulley no one in small town has it. Got to go to San Jose 70 miles away than check out wires and see which ones were cut. Sucks.
