There has been much discussion on frequency change of engine oil: how frequently do you change the posi /differential fluid and transmission fluid on a C5 driven less than a few thousand miles a season? Opinions appreciated!!

Welcome Scottie!

I just changed mine at 68k. I bought my 2002 ZO6 with 66k and I don't know the service history behind it, nor do I know how it was driven. I don't think the breakdown of fluid over time is as big a factor as how it's driven ...and I know my driving. I couldn't find a recommended service interval for it, so I just went ahead and did it.

Thanks RVM- I previously had the posi / rear serviced on my 82 Coupe yearly as it sat idle in the garage for 6 months and changing the fluid to get the moisture out was cheaper than looking for and putting in a new rear end. Several mechanics recommend yearly service for the C5 posi and transmission if the car sits idle also. Not sure if that is overkill for a 99 with 18,000 miles-but moisture is moisture???
