I own a 85 and changed the plugs and replaced the valve cover gasket on the pass side. When i finished the car was rough starting and the SES light is on. Plus the fan is running ? Is this normal with the SES light on ? I need to pull the codes and see what's going on, but i'm thinking it's a vacume line ?

Anybody have any suggestions ?

Oh and the car seems to be rich?

Also once i get the problem fixed do i have to reset the ecm by unhooking the battery before the car will run better?

Yes pull the code(S) first and let us know what you found did you perhaps not have a plug wire clicked in to the plug all the way or something because if that happend.. you could have a miss fired and hence the running "Rich" because of un burned Hydro Carbons....

thanks

Apparently there is a sensor beside the coolant sensor. Below the throttle boddy and to the right of the coolant sensor that was unplugged from taking off the valve cover.

All is good now.

I do have another question though as i'm new to a corvette. I checked my car code and i apparently have the G92 performance axle with the 3.07 gear ratio. What i was wondering ws how to tell if it's a dana 36 or 44.

If it's an auto it's a dana 36 or should be, 3.07 is usually the HP gear for the auto's and is a 36 carrier..

That coolant sensor probably is the sensor for the ECM to tell it the engine temp obviously and if it's un plugged I think it runs in open loop..
