setting gap on new spark plugs

ok, call me dumb but i don't know a simple thing like this (no surprise huh?).
I've looked in my shop manual, my AIM, and thru the archives on here but can't find what the gap setting should be on the spark plugs.

I bought new AC R45's
L76 motor.

A search at the "other place' came up with a gap setting of .030.
this was on a different type of plug though.

anyone?

Hi Barry -

.035 on plugs with points ignition. If you are running HEI or an electronic ignition conversion, go with .040 or .045.

The 0.035" will do nicely. I use 0.040" with a Pertronix I.

Actually, considering I just spent a few days in sunny New Zealand, and then 8 days in Hawaii, suddenly my blood is thinner and I am c-c-c-c-cold!

The temps here in Denver right now are 33 degrees, with a forecast of 10 tonight. Interesting note: at McMurdo Station, Antarctica, today's weather is +37 for a high, +16 for a low. That's in fahrenheit. It's warmer there than here! Bear in mind, it's "spring", going into "summer" there.

Light snow and 15F tonight. Winter is here! Just had a new high-efficiency 94 AFUE furnace put in to replace oil. Larry will know about these things. Works very well but my lips are cracked and bleeding as well as my nose. I installed a room humidifier but I might need more as the damned minus 20F temps approach. It never ends.

My Corvette is much more content at 60F in commercial storage. I miss the darn thing. May drop by and get a Christmas pic in its dungeon.

don't feel bad, it's cold and snowing here tonight too. Thank god for the little space heater I put out in the garage so I can work on the car. It's far from being toasty warm in there as the heater is way too small for the space, but it's enough to take the edge off and make it OK to work in anyway.

It got up to 17F or so today and supposed to be 19F tomorrow. Normal is about 40F for this time of year. I hope this means a mild Janurary. I put one of those high efficiency furnaces with several registers in the ceiling in my shop when I built it a few years ago. I was out there working in a t-shirt all day. I almost feel guilty hearing about space heaters.....well, not really. I did that a lot of years. It's too bad I only have one day a week I can go out there for any length of time. I turn it back to about 45 when I'm not working in there. I left it on about 60 tonight. I have some paint drying.
